Valley Ranch Elementary School Reviews

Excellent school. I have 2 children who attend VRE. The teachers at this school are excited about education and this is reflected in the variety of styles and methods they use in class. They are also very caring. There are, of course some teachers who are not on par with the rest, however all of the ones that my children and their friends have had have been excellent. The school is focused on excellence in learning and children are pushed to achieve. The elementary also has a very diverse population. I believe it is one of the main reasons why overall acheivement/test scores consistently rank above average. Also, the diversity is a reflection of the 'real' world, better preparing the children for life. The PTO is very active and helps fund many school activities, purchases needed equipment and provides $$ for teachers to attend continuing education conferences.

From what I can see so far in my sons experience the teachers and v.p. are very hands on sweet, and caring. I have to say that I am annoyed to see people complaining about a diverse school ..... unless you can take your kids out to a restaurant or movies with the color code of your choice get over it. There are all kinds in the world the sooner your children are taught a better attitude then your own the better off we will all be.

My children went to VRE (total of 11 years at this school). Overall, the school is good; but I had a lot of trouble with the principal. When we were trying to decide whether one of our children needed to repeat kindergartner, the principal did not offer any advice or experience - 'whatever you choose to do.' When I wanted to switch teachers due to my child needing a different teaching style for my child's learning style, the principal wasted a half-year of our child's time. I finally had to go to the superintendent and finally got my child moved to another classroom. My child excelled after the move. It was a shame that the principal didn't believe me, the parent, for 9 weeks. I am glad to finally be out of the school.

Valley Ranch Elementary is an outstanding place to learn and grow. Trust me it makes a few select private schools look sub-par when it comes to the curriculum, children's behavior and overall tenets of life that you can see being modeled within. The principal is involved where she needs to be and her leadership style affects the entire pulse of the school which does filter down to the children. The diversity is outstanding as well and looks more like what schools should be rather than the historically monochromatic backdrops of the past; each child has an opportunity to learn and experience true 'culture' while striving to become the best they can be no matter their background! Kudos to the entire Faculty/Staff/Administration! Please do keep up the good work!

Very good school. Lots of homework to keep your child ahead of the curve and to ensure the school keeps its exemplary five star rating Great tutoring when needed, very diverse student population. My son has been there for four years and each teacher was very nice and helpful. Love this school! You could not ask for a better grade school. Also have lots of plays and activities.

My son, a first grader, enjoyed his year at VRE.We have seen him change dramatically in terms of improved communication, assertiveness and reading skills.Teachers and Principal lead from the front.Parents do not hesitate to take initiative in many aspects.

Teachers are the key here. Like other CISD schools, the teachers found at Valley Ranch are highly committed and trained educators. They treat kids 'special' here. I have had two daughters attend this school. One of which is G&T, and the teachers at this school always challenged her to the max. I have another daughter who is not quite as 'gifted', but because of the teachers at this school has progressed beyond belief in 2 short years. The diversity represented at this school is not something I am totally comfortable with. However, it is a changing world, and a childs ability to relate to people of all ethnic backgrounds is quickly becoming the #1 skill in the corporate world. This is a great, safe school in one of the states top school districts. Only downside is the principal is hands-off, but the teachers make up where the principals have fallen short.

This elementary has a very diverse population. I believe it is one of the main reasons why overall acheivement/test scores consistently rank above average. Many students participate in Kumon or chinese math class or some other form of supplemental education. Again, this is another reason why school test are very high. The teachers are easily accessible, helpful and very good at what they do. The PTO helps fund many school activities and has financially assisted in acquiring many needed items for school. Like any other school, there are a few individual teachers that many parents complain about but overall the majority of teachers are quite competant. My children have had a wonderful experience at this school. The gifted program is very good and due to the divirsity of the school the ESL program is ranked highest in the district.

Valley Ranch Elementary School is a wonderful school with great teachers. I have two children that have experienced this fine school. I just read the ridiculous comments made by another parent (doubt here). Valley Ranch is rated exemplary for a reason. Sure schools have rules! I think the exaggeration in the previous post speaks for itself. It is rubbish! My opinion----> great school! Highest recommendation from this parent.
